“40 years of Volkswagen in China marks an outstanding success story. Today, almost 50 million people in China drive one of our cars. In the next 40 years, we will never stop in our mission to shape the future of mobility. We will achieve this through our consistent ‘In China, for China’ approach, expanding our own development capacities and forming strong partnerships with local tech-companies and OEMs to accelerate to ‘China speed’. A new model generation every three years. An upgrade to the electronics architecture every two years. An over-the-air update every month. This is the new drum beat for Volkswagen in China. Tonight provides strong evidence of our ‘In China, for China’ strategy. As we continue our journey, one thing is crystal clear: We will never stop our involvement with, and our commitment to, China.”
