As in the previous European elections, the Board of Management and the Works Council of the Volkswagen Group are appealing in the run-up to this year's European elections to all employees throughout Europe to make use of their right to vote in June and to play an active role in shaping the future of Europe.

The power plant is considered a landmark for the car manufacturer Volkswagen and the city of Wolfsburg. The multi-brand company Volkswagen is regarded as Europe's most important industrial group. Around three out of four (73 percent) of its 684,025 employees worldwide (as of 31.12.2023) are based on the home continent.
