The special model is based on the Polo with the ‘Style’ equipment line, which is enhanced with additional features. The standard exterior equipment includes 16-inch ‘Coventry’ alloy wheels (optionally 17-inch ‘Torosa’), dark-tinted rear windows and a 3D badge on the B-pillar with the lettering ‘50’. The special anniversary is also reflected in the interior with ‘Edition 50’ lettering on the front sill panel mouldings and a ‘50’ on the lower steering wheel trim as well as on the high-gloss black dashboard on the front passenger side.
The Polo special model additionally shines with many extras that are on board as standard:
- Pedals in Chrome-look
- Black headliner
- Ambient lighting
- Chrome package (with electric mirrors, switches and vents)
- Heated sports seats (front)
- Multifunction leather steering wheel
- Rear view camera system
- Park & Comfort assist system package, including proactive occupant protection system (in conjunction with Front Assist), Side Assist lane change system and Park Assist with Park Distance Control and Rear Traffic Alert
- Discover Media infotainment system incl. Streaming & Internet

A further upgrade is possible with the optional Plus package. The vehicle then comes with a large tilting and sliding panoramic sunroof, two-zone automatic air conditioner with extended air filter and the Keyless Access keyless locking and starting system with SAFELOCK.
The new model is available in three different drive versions. The entry-level model is the Polo Edition 50 with 70 kW (95 PS) and manual gearbox, which is available from 28,200 euros (in Germany). In addition, two engine/gearbox variants – with 70 kW (95 PS) and 85 kW (116 PS) – can be ordered in combination with the seven-speed direct shift gearbox DSG.
