Federal government and Hamburg put autonomous ridepooling project on the road
October 23rd, 2023 - By 2030, there could be up to 10,000 autonomous shuttles on Hamburg's roads. That’s the goal of an agreement between the Federal Ministry of Transport and the Hanseatic City of Hamburg, which is now being brought to reality.

TRATON GROUP unveils new service to boost charging for electric trucks
October 18, 2023 – The TRATON GROUP has established TRATON Charging Solutions to accelerate access to charging locations for its brands’ customers and facilitate the transition of their fleets to battery electric commercial vehicles. TRATON Charging Solutions is a new service entity of the TRATON GROUP dedicated to simplifying electric commercial transport. It offers a range of capabilities, including contracting, invoicing, route planning, and utilization insights, to ensure a seamless charging experience for electric commercial vehicle operators.

Volkswagen Passenger Cars readies plants for the future
The Volkswagen brand is preparing its Germany-based production network for the future. At a meeting today, the Group Board of Management informed the Supervisory Board of the Volkswagen Group about its vehicle allocation plans for the brand through 2028. In taking this step, the company has set its sites up for profitable capacity utilization and the economic perspective of the coming years. Efficient vehicle allocation and increased productivity are key aspects of the performance program ACCELERATE forward | Road to 6.5 initiated by the brand.

Porsche pleased with first year after IPO
Porsche AG is looking back on its first year after its much-anticipated IPO on 29 September 2022. “Today, we can say that our IPO has been a huge success. It’s good for our customers, our shareholders and our employees as well,” says Chairman of the Executive Board Oliver Blume. “With the greater entrepreneurial freedom and flexibility, we are able to set our own priorities. We can also act more quickly and with greater focus. In a dynamic and challenging global environment, that’s more important than ever.”

Tiguan redesign: Volkswagen’s bestseller celebrates world premiere before 10,000 employees
Ahead of the official media unveiling, Volkswagen this morning presented the new Tiguan to some 10,000 employees at the works meeting at the Wolfsburg plant. The Tiguan is one of the most successful Volkswagen models of the present day and is therefore of particular importance to the company: Since it went on sale in 2007, 7.6 million units have been produced – almost one million of them in the past two years. Since 2018, the Tiguan has been the bestselling model of not only Volkswagen Passenger Cars but also the Volkswagen Group. The new, third generation of the bestselling SUV will roll off the assembly line in Wolfsburg from fall 2023 and come onto the market in the first quarter of 2024. With its familiar compact dimensions, the Tiguan marries progressive technologies with charismatic design.

incampus opens in Ingolstadt: Ground for new ideas
After seven years of extensive soil remediation and construction, the time has come. The official opening of the incampus technology park was attended by Minister-President of Bavaria Markus Söder and Mayor of Ingolstadt Christian Scharpf. On the former refinery site, Audi and its partners will work on the future of mobility. Audi already has a new Vehicle Safety Center and an IT Center at the site, and the Volkswagen Group’s software company CARIAD also has its biggest tech hub there.

Bike leasing in Europe and the USA: Volkswagen Financial Services and Pon Holdings form strategic alliance
Volkswagen Financial Services ("VW FS") and Pon Holdings ("Pon") are intensifying their partnership in company bike leasing. Within this framework, VW FS will acquire a 49 percent stake in the Pon bike leasing subsidiary Bike Mobility Services (BMS). The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on this strategic alliance was signed at the IAA Mobility motor show in Munich today. The aim is to jointly expand in the growing bicycle and e-bike leasing business in Europe and the USA.
