The Volkswagen Group Award was presented in 10 categories that reflect the main action areas of the procurement strategy. A total of 10 companies out of the 40 nominees were recognized. The individual awards were presented by Board members from the Volkswagen Group and the brands as well as sponsors from Group Procurement. They thanked the suppliers for their excellent overall corporate performance last year.
The Volkswagen Group Award History Walk at Hafen 1 in Wolfsburg was a special token of appreciation in this anniversary year. The walk showcased all winners of the past 20 awards, together with highlights and products from the Group’s history.
The 10 winners of the Volkswagen Group Award 2024
Dirk Große-Loheide and Stefan Tägtmeyer, Head of Group Procurement General, presented the award in the “Costs” category to Lenovo.
Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen Group, and Michael Bäcker, Head of Group Procurement Metal, presented the award in the “Sustainability” category to the winner Salzgitter AG.
Thomas Schäfer, CEO of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars Brand and Head of the Brand Group Core, and Michael Kerschensteiner, Head of Group Procurement New Product Launches, recognized Xingyu Automotive Lighting Systems Co., Ltd. in the “Launches” category.
Christian Vollmer, Member of the Extended Executive Committee and Volkswagen Brand Board Member for Production and Logistics, and Martin Fries, Head of Group Procurement Supply Chain, presented the award in the “Resilience” category to KEBODA TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD.
The award in the “Digitalization” category presented by Hauke Stars, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG responsible for IT, and Stefan Kühne, Head of Group Procurement Interior, went to Mobileye Global Inc.
Ralf Brandstätter, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG responsible for China, and Bernd Zielke, Head of Group Procurement Central Functions, presented the award in the “Brands and Regions” category to Schaeffler AG.
The award in the “Local Hero” category presented by Silvano Michieli, Chief Procurement Officer Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A., and Stefan Gramse, Head of Group Procurement Exterior, went to TEXA S.p.A..
Gunnar Kilian, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG responsible for Human Resources and Trucks, and Till von Bothmer, Head of Group Procurement Powertrain, presented the award in the “Transformation” category to the Handtmann Gruppe.
Thomas Schmall, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG responsible for Technology, and Turgay Yetim, Head of Procurement Group Technology and Head of Group Procurement HV Battery, presented the award in the “Battery” category to Gotion High-Tech Co., Ltd.
The final award of the evening in the “Partnership” category was presented by Dirk Große-Loheide and Volker Lages, Head of Group Procurement Connectivity, eMobility and Driver Assistance, to LG Electronics.
