Škoda
For 130 years, Škoda has been continuously developing and reinventing itself with a strong customer focus. By offering the best of both worlds – combustion and electric drives – the Czech automaker is meeting global customer demand. Now, the automaker is accelerating its efforts to further increase the electrification of its fleet and to make e-mobility accessible and attractive to even more customers.

From producing bicycles, to motorcycles to cars: Škoda Auto’s history of transformations goes back to its foundation in 1895 and includes several milestones, including the integration into the Volkswagen Group, enabling significant investments, technology transfer, and access to global markets – transforming Škoda from a regional market leader into a competitive global automaker. Today, Škoda Auto has a robust business model, based on its most up-to-date and broadest model range as well as efficient cost structures – allowing the company to navigate the upcoming challenges of the transformative period from a position of strength.
Looking ahead, the brand wants to become the top brand for active and functionally-oriented customers both in its European home base and the rapidly growing international markets. To achieve this goal, Škoda’s offers its customers the best of both worlds through a range of highly efficient combustion engines, mild and improved plug-in hybrids as well as attractive all-electric models with great value-for-money, quality and intuitive functionality.
Škoda is further expanding its global footprint and establishes a strong second pillar outside of its European home market by growing its brand presence in India, the ASEAN region as well as in the Middle East and Kazakhstan. In India, Škoda Auto is leading the operation on behalf of the Volkswagen Group and its brands. The country is a key market in Škoda’s internationalisation plans and future export hub. By leveraging its expertise in price-sensitive growth markets, Škoda Auto is contributing know-how to unlock new growth potential for the Volkswagen Group in emerging markets.
Sustainability is an indispensable element of Škoda’s corporate long-term success and is firmly anchored in its transformation strategy. The company prioritises minimising the environmental impact of its activities across the entire value chain, driving sustainable growth, and promoting circular economy principles. This includes products, the supply chain, production processes, retail, and the broader environmental context in which it operates. Additionally, Škoda aims to reach CO2-neutrality of all its plants in the Czech Republic and India by 2030. The Czech plant in Vrchlabí reached this goal already in 2020 and other sites are continuously working on reaching new milestones on this mission. A milestone in this transition is the transformation of the Mladá Boleslav power plant, which is being converted to run entirely on biomass in partnership with ŠKO-ENERGO.
