Low energy consumption and high comfort: the electric drive in the new Audi A2 e-tron

  • The A2 e-tron2 is designed with a focus on low energy consumption, making it the most efficient Audi ever
  • With 140 kW of power and the optional efficiency package, the electric compact model consumes 12.8 kWh/100 km according to the WLTP cycle
  • Silicon carbide semiconductors in the power electronics minimize switching losses
  • Improved control reduces the switching frequency, especially in the partial-load range
  • Thin rotor laminations reduce iron losses
  • Stator winding in a delta configuration enables high torque and low consumption
  • A long gear ratio of 10.2:1 keeps motor speeds low
  • Transmission oil with very low viscosity reduces churning losses
  • Targeted noise reduction in the drive system enhances acoustic comfort

Ingolstadt. The new Audi A2 e-tron2 is the most efficient Audi ever. Numerous development measures contribute to this. Alongside aerodynamics and battery technology, the further developed drive technology plays a decisive role. Improvements to the power electronics, the electric motor, and the transmission complement one another in the new electric compact model from Audi. The result: Customers benefit from low consumption, long range, and pleasant acoustics.

The specified fuel consumption and emission data does not refer to a single vehicle and is not part of the offer but is only intended for comparison between different types of vehicles. Additional equipment and accessories (additional components, tyre formats, etc.) can alter relevant vehicle parameters such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics, affecting the vehicle's fuel consumption, power consumption, CO₂ emissions and driving performance values in addition to weather and traffic conditions and individual driving behavior. Further information on official fuel consumption data and official specific CO₂ emissions for new passenger cars can be found in the "Guide to fuel economy, CO₂ emissions and power consumption for new passenger car models", which is available free of charge from all sales dealerships and from DAT Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH, Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, D-73760 Ostfildern, Germany and at www.dat.de/co2.
