Himmelkron is located in the district of Kulmbach in Upper Franconia and is the second location along the north-south A9 motorway after Ingolstadt. This busy stretch of road connects the Berlin Ring with Munich and, at 530 kilometres, is one of the longest motorways in Germany. The new Porsche Charging Lounge at Eurorastpark Himmelkron complements the range of services there with six fast-charging points with simultaneous charging power of up to 400 kW, as well as a modern lounge area.
As with all Porsche Charging Lounges, the focus is on customer comfort. Inside, visitors will find comfortable seating, a selection of refreshments including soft drinks, snacks, coffee and water dispensers, and free, high-speed Wi-Fi. To gain access to the charging points and the lounge area, a Porsche ID is required. If the car’s license plate is linked to the Porsche ID, the barrier opens automatically thanks to license plate recognition. The vehicle registration number can be conveniently stored in the My Porsche app. Alternatively, customers can easily access the site and lounge using a Porsche Charging Card or with a QR code from the My Porsche app.
At the Porsche Charging Lounges, a current-generation Taycan can be taken from a 10 to 80 per cent state of charge (SoC) in just 18 minutes. A Macan needs only slightly more time – 21 minutes – to achieve the same. The Cayenne Electric, which will soon celebrate its world premiere, requires less than 16 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 per cent.
Free parking time extended through Porsche Charging Service
Porsche has improved the terms relating to blocking fees in Porsche Charging Service Plus. No blocking fees apply over night for AC charging between midnight and 08:00. The free parking time for AC charging is also being extended from four to now six hours, providing customers with even more flexibility when charging.
This means that customers can charge their vehicle from 18:00 to midnight, for example, and park there for another eight hours overnight at no additional blocking fees. In total, customers benefit from up to 14 hours of free parking and charging time without blocking fees.
Continued collaboration with Aral pulse
Aral pulse remains a Preferred Partner. This means that Porsche drivers continue to benefit from attractive rates: Porsche Charging Service Plus customers can charge at Preferred Partner locations at the discounted rate of €0.39 per kilowatt hour and therefore benefit from the same low price as they would at Porsche Charging Lounges and participating Porsche Centres. In addition to Aral pulse, IONITY, GoFast in Switzerland, Fines Charging in Bulgaria, and Iberdrola on the Iberian Peninsula as well as Zunder in Spain and France are also Preferred Partners.
