The Head of Communications for Corporate Social Responsibility, Mário Guerreiro (59), is amicably leaving Volkswagen Group effective March 31, 2019 following a more than 25-year tenure within the Group.

Successful fiscal year 2017: Volkswagen Truck & Bus significantly increased revenues and operating profit
Volkswagen Truck & Bus' commercial vehicle business1 significantly increased its revenues and operating profit in fiscal year 2017. Revenues went up 12.1% to €23.9 billion due to a strong increase of unit sales throughout all brands. Operating profit before special items increased by 26.8% to €1.7 billion, corresponding to an operating return on sales of 6.9%.

Volkswagen Group boosts vehicle deliveries again in February
In the first two months of 2018, the Volkswagen Group delivered more than 1.6 million vehicles to its customers throughout the world. In the month of February, the Group handed over 737,700 new vehicles to customers. "At the beginning of the year, the Volkswagen Group remains on track for growth: especially the regions of Europe and Asia have developed positively. In overall terms, the Group grew worldwide deliveries by 7.2 percent in February," said Fred Kappler, Head of Group Sales of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft. "Our top priority is still to strengthen the trust of our customers in our brands and products," Kappler added.

Volkswagen Group realigns energy supplies: company power stations to change over from coal to gas
The Volkswagen Group is taking another key step towards significantly reducing environmental impact and is moving away from coal. The Group Board of Management has decided that the Group's two major power stations in Wolfsburg are to be thoroughly modernized and changed over from hard coal to natural gas firing. In the course of this project, several new combined-cycle systems are to be installed as replacements for the existing coal-fired boilers. About €400 million is to be invested in this project and the new facilities are to be commissioned between 2021 and 2022.

Personnel changes at the SEAT brand and SAIC VOLKSWAGEN
Dr. Christian Vollmer, currently Technical Executive Vice President of SAIC VOLKSWAGEN in Shanghai, has been appointed as Vice-President for Production and Logistics of the SEAT brand with effect from July 1, 2018. In this function, he succeeds Dr. Andreas Tostmann, who has been Member of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen brand responsible for Production and Logistics since February 1. Vollmer's successor at SAIC VOLKSWAGEN is to be Fred Schulze, Previously Head of the C-/D-SUV and Crossover Series of the AUDI brand.

Volkswagen Newsroom App as a mobile work-place for journalists
The latest generation of the Volkswagen Newsroom App will further simplify work for journalists. The new release lets users simply download and share texts, images and videos or export them to other devices as press kits. Multimedia content will also be presented in the future. In this connection, the Group Night at the Geneva International Motor Show on March 5 will be accessible via livestream on the app.

Systematic implementation of the strategy is paying off – record earnings for the Volkswagen Group in 2017
The Volkswagen Group brought fiscal year 2017 to a successful conclusion, generating significantly higher sales revenue than in the year before. The Group also improved nearly all of its financial key performance indicators amid challenging conditions. Particularly the delivery record of 10.7 million vehicles lifted Group sales revenue by 6.2 percent year-on-year to EUR 230.7 billion. Special items attributable to the diesel issue once again reduced operating profit, which nevertheless rose by EUR 6.7 billion to EUR 13.8 billion. The Volkswagen Group expects to moderately exceed its latest record delivery figures in the current fiscal year.

Volkswagen Group deliveries grow 10.1 percent in January
The Volkswagen Group handed over 898,700 new vehicles to customers worldwide in the first month of this year. "The Volkswagen Group brands made an excellent start to 2018. There was significant growth in all regions. Overall, worldwide deliveries by the Group grew 10.1 percent in January. That is the best start to the year in the history of the Volkswagen Group", Fred Kappler, Head of Sales at Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft said, commenting on the January figures.

Volkswagen Group assumes pioneering role in rapid road safety improvement
From 2019 onwards, the brands of the Volkswagen Group are to use the WLANp standard, which has already been comprehensively tested, for communications among vehicles and between vehicles and their environment. The introduction of this technology as standard equipment on volume models ranging from compact cars to commercial vehicles will significantly improve safety on the roads of Europe.
The specified fuel consumption and emission data does not refer to a single vehicle and is not part of the offer but is only intended for comparison between different types of vehicles. Additional equipment and accessories (additional components, tyre formats, etc.) can alter relevant vehicle parameters such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics, affecting the vehicle's fuel consumption, power consumption, CO₂ emissions and driving performance values in addition to weather and traffic conditions and individual driving behavior.
