Mobility, Travel, Freedom. ICONIC Exhibition at the DRIVE. Volkswagen Group Forum Showcases Travel Icons
The successful exhibition “ICONIC – A Timeless Journey of Culture, Society and Mobility” at the DRIVE. Volkswagen Group Forum is being expanded with new exhibits and an additional thematic focus. A central motif of mobility history is moving into the spotlight: travel. The new focus highlights the cultural, societal, and personal significance that being on the move holds for people – and how closely these experiences are connected to the development of individual mobility. Since its opening in 2024, more than 1.1 million visitors have experienced the diverse exhibition in the heart of Berlin. The format also continues to generate strong engagement on social media.

Electrifying milestone: Volkswagen Group delivers four million all-electric vehicles
With the delivery of four million all-electric vehicles, the Volkswagen Group has reached another milestone in its successful electrification strategy. In 2025, the Group was one of the top five BEV manufacturers worldwide and was the clear BEV market leader in its home market of Europe with a market share of around 27 percent. The Group's first all-electric series production vehicle, the VW e-up!, was launched back in 2013, followed by the VW e-Golf in 2014. From 2019 on, a cross-brand product offensive based on the new Modular Electric Drive Matrix (MEB) drove significant volume growth. To date, around three million Group vehicles based on the MEB have been delivered, making it the Group's leading electric platform.

Volkswagen Group achieves historic record in "Best Cars 2026"
The Volkswagen Group won ten out of 25 categories in the 50th edition of the “Best Cars” reader poll conducted by the German trade magazine auto motor und sport, setting a historic record. In the overall ranking, the Volkswagen brand secured three victories, one of which went to Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. Porsche came out on top in two classes, and Audi won once. In the import ranking, Škoda was the most successful brand with three awards, and Bentley won one category. A total of around 95,000 readers cast their votes in "Best Cars 2026," making it the largest car reader poll in Europe.

Volkswagen Group: Andreas Mindt appointed new Head of Group Design
Andreas Mindt, Head of Design Volkswagen Brand, will additionally lead Group Design for the Volkswagen Group starting March 1, 2026. He succeeds Michael Mauer, who is leaving the company on amicable terms as part of a generational transition. Mauer had previously transferred his responsibilities at Porsche to his successor.

Volkswagen Group achieves global milestone with 5 million electric drives produced; APP550 sets the benchmark
The Volkswagen Group has reached a milestone in producing five million electric drive units worldwide. This collective achievement by the Győr, Kassel, Tianjin and Zuffenhausen plants underscores the performance capabilities of the Group-wide technology and production alliance as well as the systematic scale-up of e-mobility across the different brands and regions. Volkswagen Group Components’ competence network is a key enabler here – the Kassel plant alone increased production of electric drives in 2025 by around 24 percent year-on-year to over 850,000 units.

Volkswagen Group China starts production of its first locally developed zonal electronic architecture
Volkswagen Group China delivered the China Electronic Architecture (CEA) on schedule. This paves the way for the successful roll-off of its first CEA-based model, the VW ID. UNYX 07. The tech trailblazer marks Volkswagen Group’s entry into full cycle Software-Defined Vehicle production in China for China. Already this year the Group will present four further vehicles from all Volkswagen brand joint ventures with the new architecture. With the delivery of the CEA Volkswagen confirms its full end-to-end capabilities in Software-Defined Vehicle development, from concept and engineering through validation and mass production. The architecture was developed by Volkswagen Group China Technology Company (VCTC), CARIAD China and XPENG. The vehicle is produced at the Volkswagen Anhui plant.

New cross-brand steering model for Brand Group Core strengthens foundation for more competitive products and greater efficiency
The Brand Group Core (BGC) within the Volkswagen Group – the organizational unit comprising the volume brands Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Škoda, SEAT&CUPRA and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles – is taking the next step in its successful cooperation. From this January, an overarching steering model lays the groundwork for an efficient and more competitive organization.
As the top BGC management body, the newly-formed “Brand Group Core Board of Management” will make cross-brand decisions going forward.
The overall objective is to streamline processes, structures and decision-making paths. Stronger prioritization of decisions in the interest of the brand group will lead to a higher level of efficiency within the BGC. Going forward, the Production (P), Technical Development (TE) and Procurement (B) functions will be managed at cross-brand level by the Brand Group Core Board of Management.

Learning from data: Volkswagen Group launches Europe-wide initiative for greater road safety
The Volkswagen Group is committed to further enhancing safety for all road users across Europe. Building on successful experiences in Germany, the Group aims to expand its program for utilizing sensor and image data from customer vehicles to around 40 European countries. The goal is to continuously optimize driver assistance systems and automated driving functions using data from real traffic situations. Customers can benefit from these improvements through software updates to their vehicles. The ongoing enhancements to driving functions increase comfort and make a positive contribution to overall road safety. Customer consent is required – naturally in full compliance with all national and European data protection regulations. The rollout is scheduled to start in January 2026 with Volkswagen Passenger Cars models, followed by CUPRA, ŠKODA, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Audi and Porsche.
