Volkswagen Group intends to shape digital change together with partners from the supply industry
Today, members of the Boards of Management of the Volkswagen Group and brand visited selected partners in the FAST (Future Automotive Supply Track) initiative at the International Suppliers Fair (IZB). The motto of this year's leading industry showcase for suppliers was "Digitalization of mobility". The Volkswagen Group is intensifying its efforts to master digital change and the associated transformation in the automotive industry together with suppliers in a future-oriented way. Following a successful launch, the Volkswagen Group is expanding its FAST initiative to other materials groups such as components for the connected car. To date, 55 strategic partners for 61 fields of competence have been named under the FAST initiative.

Volkswagen Group deliveries rise by 7.1 percent in September
The Volkswagen Group delivered 947,600 vehicles to customers in September, an increase of 7.1 percent compared with the previous year. 7.6 million vehicles were handed over to customers worldwide from January to September, representing a rise of 2.4 percent. "All passenger car brands recorded a positive delivery performance for the period to September. While the situation in Brazil in particular remained tense, there was significant growth on the Chinese market. There was also positive development in demand from customers in Europe", Fred Kappler, Head of Group Sales, commented. "The increased deliveries make us optimistic we will be able to master the upcoming challenges. Reinforcing our customers' trust in our products remains our top priority", Kappler continued.

First joint initiative launched: Volkswagen Group and Gett roll out attractive vehicle packages in Moscow
The Volkswagen Group and global mobility provider Gett announced their strategic partnership in May this year. Now, the first joint initiative is being rolled out with attractive vehicle packages in Moscow's growth market. Gett drivers in the Russian capital can look forward to preferential terms when they choose a Volkswagen Polo Sedan, a Volkswagen Jetta, a ŠKODA Rapid or a ŠKODA Octavia.

MAN and Scania determine principles for joint development
Under the umbrella of Volkswagen Truck & Bus, the MAN and Scania brands have determined clear principles for their joint development projects and have concluded a corresponding basic agreement. In future, teams consisting of engineers from both brands will develop core components of the drive train together. There will be common platforms for engines, gearboxes, axles and exhaust after-treatment systems that can then be modified by the particular brands. One of the two companies will take the lead for each project. The lead engineering concept ensures that the needs of both companies are taken into account, the individuality of the brands is maintained and competencies are clearly defined.

Volkswagen Group expands its competence in artificial intelligence
The Volkswagen Group continues to drive the digital transformation forward and is expanding its competence with regard to artificial intelligence (AI), not only with a view to using this key technology in the field of autonomous driving and in production, but also to speed up corporate processes. To that end, Prof. Patrick van der Smagt will be joining the team of AI experts and data scientists at the Volkswagen Group's Data Lab in Munich from October, and will lead the AI team. Van der Smagt is Associate Professor at Technische Universität München and one of Europe's leading experts in deep learning and robotics.

8th Group CSR Meeting – Volkswagen Group strengthens sustainability management
For the eighth time, worldwide CSR officers from Group, brands and regions gathered at the company headquarters to attend a three-day closed meeting, the Group CSR Meeting. At the forefront of the agenda was an exchange of views on the key future topics in the field of sustainability. Reorientation through the TOGETHER – Strategy 2025, increasing global demands, realignment in global governance and the process of transformation within both the industry and the company were the subjects of an intensive exchange of information in presentations, workshops and discussion forums.

Volkswagen Group and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile (JAC) aim for joint development of electric vehicles in China
Volkswagen AG and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co., Ltd. (JAC) yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Wolfsburg to define the next phase of negotiations between the two companies in order to achieve long-term cooperation in the joint development of all-electric vehicles  in China.

Volkswagen Truck & Bus enters into strategic alliance with Navistar
Volkswagen Truck & Bus GmbH ("Volkswagen Truck & Bus") and Navistar International Corporation ("Navistar"), the US-based commercial vehicles manufacturer, today announced that they have formed a far-reaching alliance that includes framework agreements for a strategic technology and supply cooperation and a procurement joint venture. Volkswagen Truck & Bus will furthermore acquire a 16.6% equity stake in Navistar through a primary share issuance.

Hamburg and Volkswagen agree strategic mobility partnership
Matthias Müller, CEO of Volkswagen AG, and Olaf Scholz, First Mayor of the Hanseatic City, today signed a memorandum of understanding in the "Kaisersaal" of Hamburg Town Hall. Urban mobility concepts and intermodality, traffic control and management, autonomous driving and parking, innovative vehicle concepts and alternative technologies as well as air pollution control are the cornerstones of the partnership. For the Volkswagen Group, this partnership is a further building block in its new "TOGETHER 2025" strategy, for Hamburg it represents an important step in its strategy to develop intelligent transport systems, and in its application to host the 2021 ITS World Congress.

Volkswagen Group introduces particulate filter for petrol engines
The Volkswagen Group is continuing to work assiduously on the environmental compatibility of conventional drive systems. The company has now decided upon wide-scale use of particulate filters for petrol engines, so-called 'gasoline particulate filters (GPF)'. From 2017, all Group direct injection TSI and TFSI engines will be fitted step-by-step with petrol particulate filters. Emissions of fine soot particles will be reduced in this way by up to 90 per cent.
The specified fuel consumption and emission data does not refer to a single vehicle and is not part of the offer but is only intended for comparison between different types of vehicles. Additional equipment and accessories (additional components, tyre formats, etc.) can alter relevant vehicle parameters such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics, affecting the vehicle's fuel consumption, power consumption, CO₂ emissions and driving performance values in addition to weather and traffic conditions and individual driving behavior.
