“In China, for China”: Five intelligent, fully connected vehicles and a new AI-based ADAS system celebrate their debut at Volkswagen Group Night in Shanghai
The Volkswagen Group is continuing to consistently pursue its ‘In China, for China’ strategy and is shifting into ‘delivery mode’ at Auto Shanghai 2025: on the eve of the world's leading trade fair for the automotive industry, the Group is presenting ten new models from its strong brands, including five world premieres. With the ID. ERA, ID. EVO and ID. AURA, three concept vehicles from the Volkswagen brand are making their debut. They represent a new generation of intelligent, fully connected electric vehicles (ICVs) that are tailored to the wishes of Chinese customers. The two further world premieres also offer cutting-edge technologies and highly automated driving assistance functions: Audi's new all-electric model based on the PPE (Premium Platform Electric) platform, the Audi A6L e-tron, and the first series model of the new AUDI brand, the AUDI E5 Sportback.

Volkswagen Group in China presents new AI-powered ADAS system for the next generation of intelligent electric vehicles
The Volkswagen Group is systematically expanding its local technology competence in China as part of its ongoing commitment to the “In China, for China” strategy. At Auto Shanghai, Volkswagen will debut its first proprietary AI-powered, highly automated driving system. Specially developed for China's complex traffic environments, the system is self-learning and engineered for both seamless and extremely safe driving experiences. Through an efficient System-on-Chip (SoC) with high computing power, it enables smooth, rapid responses to a wide range of driving scenarios. The group will present a Volkswagen-brand model with this technology in China before the end of this year. Starting next year, it will also be integrated into models based on the China-specific Compact Main Platform (CMP), marking it accessible to price-sensitive compact segment customers.

Volkswagen Group launches a major product offensive at Auto Shanghai 2025, offering intelligent, fully connected vehicles for the growing China market
The Volkswagen Group's "In China, for China" strategy is unleashing its full power: the first vehicles developed exclusively in China for Chinese customers are making their debut at Auto Shanghai 2025 and launching on the market soon. The models of the new AUDI brand and the Volkswagen brand impressively demonstrate the rapid transformation of the Group, with a total of seven world premieres being presented in Shanghai. The next generation of intelligent, fully connected vehicles (ICV) will open up new market segments and customer groups in the highly competitive Chinese market.

Volkswagen Group doubles all-electric deliveries in Europe
On April 09, 2025, the Volkswagen Group published the deliveries for January to March 2025.

Deliveries of all-electric vehicles rose 59 percent to 217,000, while plug-in hybrid deliveries increased 15 percent to 82,000. The largest markets were Western Europe with 814,000 vehicles and China with 644,000.

Volkswagen Group cooperates with Valeo and Mobileye to enhance driver assistance in future MQB vehicles
Volkswagen Group is working with Valeo and Mobileye to upgrade the advanced driver assistance systems up to Level 2+ ('enhanced partially automated driving') in its upcoming vehicle portfolio based on the MQB platform. Launching in the next few years, this cooperation will improve safety and driving comfort in high-volume vehicles, addressing both customer expectations and regulatory requirements.

Change on Volkswagen Supervisory Board: Christiane Benner to follow Jörg Hofmann
A planned change has been effected among the employee representatives on the Supervisory Board of Volkswagen AG. The Chair of IG Metall, Christiane Benner, is taking over from her predecessor Jörg Hofmann and will thus also assume the role of Deputy to the Chair of the Supervisory Board, Hans Dieter Pötsch. At the same time, she will also replace Hofmann on the Executive Committee.

Software development: Volkswagen Group and CGI deepen global collaboration
The Volkswagen Group and CGI, one of the world’s largest business and IT consulting firms, announce the deepening of their global collaboration. This move strengthens the Volkswagen Group’s long-term capabilities to further expand a powerful IT infrastructure for the future. As part of their joint efforts, both partners have launched the new entity MARV1N (pronounced “Marvin”) which will act as an international development unit for Group-wide digitalization projects and support the developers at Volkswagen. With these additional resources, the Volkswagen Group plans to develop new IT systems faster and more efficiently.

Volkswagen merges charging and fueling services under new company
The Volkswagen Group is strengthening its charging and fueling services through the merger of LOGPAY Transport Services GmbH, a subsidiary of Volkswagen Financial Services AG, and the mobility service units of Volkswagen Group Charging GmbH (Elli). This strategic merger lays the foundation for future growth by offering seamless mobility services and an expanded range of solutions to both business and private customers transitioning to e-mobility. The newly established Elli Mobility GmbH, as a result of this merger, will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Volkswagen Group Charging GmbH (Elli) starting (expected) in March 2025.

Volkswagen Group with 9 million deliveries after strong fourth quarter
On January 14, 2025, the Volkswagen Group published the deliveries for October to December 2024.
