EV batteries drive the energy transition: Roland Berger study shows high potential of decentralized energy in Germany
Elli – a brand of the Volkswagen Group – together with an alliance of leading energy companies presents a new study about decentralized energy solutions. Technologies like electric vehicles, solar power systems, home storage systems, and heat pumps can save the German energy system up to €255 billion by 2045. This corresponds to around €13 billion per year in added value – a key lever for a secure, independent, and cost-efficient energy transition. Roland Berger’s analysis shows that Germany can only achieve both energy supply security and overall cost efficiency through the combination of large-scale centralized power plants and decentralized energy technologies.

Karl Bernqvist new Chief Purchasing Officer at TRATON
Karl Bernqvist (50) will take over the position as Chief Purchasing Officer at TRATON and member of the Executive Board of MAN Truck & Bus SE responsible for procurement. He will succeed Murat Aksel, who, due to different views on the future strategic direction of the company, mutually agreed with the Supervisory Board of MAN Truck and Bus SE and the Board of Management of TRATON SE to end his position as of October 31, 2025.

Sharpened design philosophy of the Volkswagen Group as the key to sustainable brand success

PowerCo’s Unified Cell, which will be used for the first time in the Electric Urban Car Family of Volkswagen, ŠKODA and CUPRA, is ready for series production.
